Aditya filed an RTI application to inspect the street lights of Delhi University. As a result he was accompanied by an engineer from DU for the inspection. All the dysfunctional lights were listed and another RTI was filed. Now the result is that all the street lights in DU area properly functional. This required a budget of over a lakh which got approved because of Aditya’s initiative.

He has also filed an RTI to know about the internal assessment procedures of DU. The section 4 of the RTI act requires any authority to provide all the information in the form of brochure so as to ensure transparent working of the body. This was not being followed by DU. Because of Aditya’s persistent efforts CIC has ordered DU to publish information to facilitate the process of accessing information.

Aditya has filed many RTI applications to various government offices also. His applications have caused a lot of trouble to the government officers. It is quite a sight to see this 20year old boy being addressed as ‘Sir’ by officials who are almost double his age.
